Alliance By Cheer

Here at ICE we love to see teams being supportive of each other and raising positive awareness of our sport. We spoke with ‘Alliance By Cheer’ to find out how they are working to bring clubs together outside of the competition environment, to help develop the cheer community nationwide.

ABC was founded earlier this year by Angeline Rees (Warrington Cheer Storm) and Sarah Maxwell (Lightning Athletics), as a platform to improve skills and build friendships by working together. They organise joint training sessions, aiming to promote cheer and enhance each athlete’s experience through shared learning.

The launch session took place on 20th October 2018, where athletes from both teams bonded over ice breakers, enjoyed amalgamated stunting and tumbling, and learned group dances. This fun joint training session was followed by an enjoyable group dinner. The teams now plan to meet up a couple of times a year, to continue to support each other.

ABC welcome any team to get involved, regardless of where they might be on their cheer journey. Any interested coaches can contact Sarah or Angeline directly via the Alliance By Cheer Facebook page.

We’re so happy to see examples of new friendships and shared experiences spreading across the cheer community! Good luck to ABC in their initiative to create more successful cheer alliances, and we look forward to meeting teams united by ABC at Incredibly Cool Events for ICE season 4!
