Tribute to a dear colleague and friend – Wanna Montano Hamilton
Everyone at ICE is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Wanna Montano Hamilton.
Wanna was a valued and respected member of our ICE event staff, as well as a much-loved character within the cheerleading and dance community. She passed away suddenly at home in Huddersfield on Monday 30th December 2019, at the age of 43.
Wanna joined Team ICE during the current season and had an immediate positive impact. She quickly established herself as an outstanding team player. Wanna would often manage the entrance doors, where she met thousands of ICE athletes, coaches and spectators. Many of her colleagues became personal friends.
Lisa Biddulph, ICE Event Manager, said, “Wanna had a heart of gold, and would do anything to help anyone. She always had a smile on her face.”
A JustGiving page has been created by ICE Director, Kimberley Mason, who is asking the cheerleading and dance community to donate whatever they can to assist Wanna’s family with funeral costs. Donations will also help support Wanna’s husband, five children and two grandchildren, following the loss of her income:

Kimberley said, “Wanna, it was a privilege to have met and worked with you. My love and thoughts are with your family at this terribly sad time. It was so clear that you adored them, and in return they adored you. You were truly one of life’s good ones; rest in peace, sweet lady.”
The team at ICE greatly valued Wanna’s dedication, kindness and good nature. She will be hugely missed by all of us, and we send our sincerest condolences to Wanna’s family and friends.
