Coronavirus Update 16th March

16th March 2020 8:05pm

Like you, we are working hard to prioritise everyone’s health and safety. There are multiple and challenging issues to consider, in a situation which is changing every day. We are grateful for the kindness and patience you’ve extended to us during this rapidly evolving situation.

In an effort to give you as much notice as we can, we have therefore taken the decision to postpone all ICE events from 21 March to 3 May inclusive. These are as follows:

  • Sub Zero, Stirling 21-22 March (as per previous announcement from 14th March)
  • Too Cool for School, Stoke-on-Trent 27 March
  • ICE Cooler, Stoke on Trent 28-29 March
  • Dance Fusion, Newcastle on Tyne 3 May

Please be assured ICE have given this decision much consideration. We of course understand it may be disappointing and frustrating.

The ICE team are currently working hard on planning rescheduled events for you. As soon as we have new dates or further details, please be assured we’ll contact coaches. We sincerely hope you’ll be able to join us for any rescheduled competitions. Coaches who are unable to make their rescheduled dates will instead be able to transfer their payment to any other available ICE event up to July 2021, including ICE Ultimate Dance Experience events.

We appreciate you may have concerns about the events from mid-May onwards. Please see our recent announcement regarding measures we’re taking to support coaches during these uncertain times. For events from Summer Meltdown until July 2020, the early bird pricing deadline has been extended to 4 weeks prior to each event, with an extended payment deadline to 2 weeks prior to the event. We are also looking into other constructive ways to try and support coaches through this difficult situation, and we will be in touch as soon as we can.

ICE of course are monitoring the situation constantly, and will continue to follow government guidance. If anything changes, we will contact you and we will aim to give you as much notice as possible. Please keep checking your mailboxes. We hugely appreciate your patience whilst we are working very hard to adjust plans, and we are grateful for your continued understanding during these uncertain times.

As you might imagine, we’re receiving a large number of calls and messages, meaning our response times are slower than normal. We respectfully request that spectators and athletes please monitor our social media for the latest information rather than contacting us directly.

You can visit www.NHS.UK/coronavirus for further information about the virus and how to protect yourself.

ICE look forward to welcoming you back soon. We wish you much strength and hope as together we approach the challenges we’ll be facing over the next few months.

With sincere thanks for your continued support,

Team ICE
